Diaconal Year Abroad (DJiA)
Protestant Voluntary Services for Young People FSJ and DJiA combines two different fields of activity under its roof: the national program, Social Voluntary Service (FSJ) and the international program, Diaconal Year Abroad (DJiA).
The DJiA is the international program of the association of protestant organizations of FSJ with currently 39 affiliated organizations. It is represented by Protestant Voluntary Services at federal level in church, Diakonie (the social-service arm of the protestant church in Germany), politics and society.
In addition to the FSJ, the regional and national organizations of FSJ are able to offer a long-term program abroad to interested young people without having to provide this program themselves. In return, the FSJ supporting organizations act as hosting organizations for incoming volunteers from partner countries.
As supporting organization of this federal program, we operate it from the initial contact with interested people to the re-entry seminar. We send committed young people to church-related ecumenical partner organizations in other European countries and overseas.
