Social Voluntary Service (FSJ) | Bundesfreiwilligendienst (BFD)

The national tutorage Social Voluntary Service represents the association of protestant organizations FSJ with currently 40 affiliated protestant organizations in the areas of youth work, Diakonie (the social-service arm of the protestant church in Germany) and church.

The national office is responsible for the coordination and further refining of the program FSJ / BFD under the auspices of the association of protestant organizations. That is to say that the office supports the affiliated organizations in further developing the program, both in terms of quality and quantity.

This requires the following measures:

  • Permanent professional  exchange to enhance the program and apply the modifications
  • Continuous refinement of the concept and quality standards as well as quality assurance
  • Advice to the affiliated organizations as to how to realize the given guidelines
    - Promotion of "Youth Voluntary Services Act" and Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth
    - overall concept and quality manual of the association of protestant organizations
  • further qualification and training of the educational personnel, advice regarding new concepts and models
  • Initial information or re-assignment of interested youth, multipliers and placements
  • Advice to (protestant) organizations intending to offer FSJ / BFD
  • Representation of the program in a political and church-related context
