A lot of our sending organisations cooperate with partner organisations abroad, so called host organisations.
Host organisations support the volunteers during the entire service in the respective region and are in charge of a group of volunteers.
Some of their duties
The host organisations also provide a mentor. These mentors are experienced people outside of the volunteer's place of assignment and provide support if the volunteer has any personal questions, possible conflicts, problems or falls ill.
The hosting of volunteers from Germany is only possible in cooperation with a German sending organisation. For further information regarding how to become a host organisation, please contact one of our sending organisations or our headquarter.
Places of assignment are mostly public-welfare-oriented institutions such as children’s homes, hospitals, or assisted-living communities for elderly. To find further placement possibilities look here
During their service volunteers accompany employees in the place of assignment. The places of assignment support the volunteers during the entire service. They are in charge of individual and professional chaperonage of the volunteers. At the same time, they ensure that no paid positions are replaced by the use of volunteers. The volunteers' tasks should be supplementary or supportive.
For further information regarding how to become a place of assignment, please contact one of our sending organisations or our headquarter.
